SYR (sire) is a Celtic Folk-Rock band hailing from Columbia, SC. What started as a small traditional cover band has evolved into a band with a unique blend of genres.
Taking inspiration from Celtic history and myth, SYR creates original songs with themes like battle, love, loss, and a large pint.
SYR also plays everything from Irish & Scottish drinking songs, to sea shanties and ballads in Gaelic, even taking modern songs and adding a Celtic twist to create an interesting blend of old and new.

Comments: From their humble beginnings as a cover band, to developing their unique blend of genres, SYR set out to gather inspiration from Celtic Folk, Irish drinking songs, Scottish folk numbers and Gaelic Ballads, blending these timeless genres with a contemporary twist coming in the form of their rock music background. The band consists of brothers Jacob and Josh McCleery (drums and guitar), Emily Bracey (fiddle), Timothy Strevens (bass), and siblings, Kyle and Laurel MacCallum, (lead guitar/vocals and backup vocals)...Review on The SYR Debut AlbumRead the Full Review
