Rose Baldino and Deirdre Lockman lead this distinctive Celtic trad band with an unusual combination of high-energy charisma and tightly woven fiddle/vocal harmonies. The driving rhythm and bass end is supplied by Lou Baldino on guitar and Peter Trezzi on percussion. Founded in 2006, “BBC” has produced four albums and played hundreds of shows throughout the Eastern half of the U.S.A.
The band broke new ground with their fourth CD, “Pressed for Time,” hitting #1 on the Roots Music Folk and Roots charts (8-30-2013) Their CD’s are played on hundreds of radio programs worldwide, including NPR’s popular “Thistle and Shamrock”. In 2013, Burning Bridget Cleary was nominated “Top Traditional Band in a Pub, Festival or Concert Setting” by the Irish Music Association.
A debut music video with single release, "Stor Mo Chroi: Darling of My Heart", was published in May, 2012 on YouTube and all the major music download sites.
In the spring of 2011, Burning Bridget Cleary completed a weeklong tour of Ireland where they performed at seven different venues from Dublin to Galway. While there, the band had a "once in a lifetime" opportunity to visit the rural Tipperary cottage of their namesake, Bridget Cleary, who is remembered as "the last witch burned in Ireland". Another tour, this time to Northern Ireland, is in the works for July 2015.
Known for their captivating sound and engaging stage presence, Burning Bridget Cleary is currently one of the hottest young acts on the Celtic and folk music circuits.
